Our Children
At Nazareth House Day Nursery, we are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for children, which encourages and develops their confidence and self esteem and helps them appreciate and value each other.
We aim to provide an excellent service, which is planned and developed to the highest professional standards so that each child is supported and benefits from their time at nursery.
A wide range of play and learning opportunities are created where children can explore and investigate. Equipment is used to meet the needs of all children in and out of doors, which is important to their development.
About Us
Nazareth House Day Nursery is a non profit making private Day Nursery which is set in the substantial and attractive grounds of Nazareth House. We make full use of the space for recognising the beauty of nature and wildlife. We take advantage of our setting to extend planned and free play activities outdoors. The Nursery has two large soft play areas, one suitable for under 2’s and the other for two years and over; both are suitable for babies and children to play happily and safely. We also have a large garden at the rear for all age groups to use and a vegetable and flower garden grown by the children.
The nursery has been established in caring for children for over 35 years and caters for up to 52 children. We are open all year round, except Bank Holidays and for one week at Christmas.
The nursery is divided into three rooms of varying age groups:
Our dedicated staff, most of whom hold either NNEB or B.Tec qualifications, are committed to provide a high standard of day care in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Meet our staff in the gallery. They have all undergone the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks required for those who work with children. Continuing professional development is encouraged for all staff to ensure that the standard of care provided by the nursery is of the highest quality. This ongoing program includes in-house training sessions and attendance on specific courses relating to all areas of child care.
The nursery has an open door policy which enables parents and staff to share information and discuss any issues relating to the care of their child; we operate a Key Worker system where the key person co-ordinates information about the child’s individual needs and development and shares this with the parents.
We actively promote healthy eating and provide a morning snack, cooked lunch and light afternoon tea. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always included and the cost is included in the sessional fees. We cater to all dietary requirements.
All aspects of the appropriate national curriculum are included during the children’s time here and we couple it with fun, care and love so that each day spent at nursery is a pleasure as well as a learning opportunity.
The Nursery accepts voucher schemes from employers. We currently have Busy Bees, Accor Services, Kids Unlimited, KiddiVouchers, Sodexho, Fideliti and Care 4 voucher schemes in place. Nazareth House Day Nursery is an eligible provider of the Nursery Education Grant for Lancashire County Council. Our 3 and 4 year old children receive a nursery education grant towards their fees.
