Situated in the historic city of Lancaster, Nazareth House Care Home offers 24 hour professional care, security, comfort and friendship in the warmth of a real home.
Established in 1899 by the Sisters of Nazareth, the house is set in 14 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, which includes a wildlife pond. The Home is within easy reach of Lancaster and accessible by bus routes.

About us
Care Team
The Home is managed by Sister Ann Brigid Quinn who is a Registered Nurse and has the Registered Managers Award, NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier Awards. Sister Ann has 25 years experience working in care homes.
The Manager has overall responsibility for the home and is supported by the following staff.
There are Senior Carers who organise the day to day care for residents and support, supervise other carers to ensure the residents receive quality care.
Housekeeping staff are responsible for ensuring all areas of the Home are clean and are also responsible for the Laundry.
The Catering Manager and catering staff ensure that all catering needs are met and all regulations and standards in relation to the Kitchen are met.
The Maintenance Team are responsible for all general repairs and maintenance of the building, facilities and equipment and are responsible for the maintenance of the grounds and their appearance.
The Activities Organiser is responsible for planning activities and outings following consultation with staff and residents.
All staff work together as a team to provide a high standard of care.
Our Home is able to provide a variety of ways that residents can engage in the enjoyment of social activities, hobbies and leisure interests. Residents are consulted individually in relation to their interests and wishes regarding social activities as part of the Service User Planning process and at regular residents meetings. The range of activities available are set out below.
- Weekly Menu of organised activities based on resident consultation and choices.
- Painting, Colouring, Floor Bowling, Reminiscing, Bingo, Weekly Quiz, Dominoes, Crafts, Music and Movements, Sketching, Sing-a-long etc.
- Library service provides books with large print. Talking books can be supplied if requested by individual residents. Mobile library service visits every six weeks.
- Film shows.
- Mini-bus outings including shopping trips are provided at various times throughout the year.
- The Home has a resident dog, a Border Collie called Tess.
- Themed days are celebrated regularly. eg:Easter Bonnet Day, St. Andrews Day.
Community Involvement
- Visiting Groups entertain residents periodically.
- Birthday parties are very special and are celebrated in small or large groups whichever the resident and their family prefer. A birthday cake is provided for the party organised for each resident.
- Friends and relatives from the local community join in both Sunday and other Church Services and are also invited to any other special events. Summer and Christmas Fayres are held each year.
Facilities:
All our rooms have en-suite facilities and are individually decorated and colour co-ordinated. There are several separate lounges to encourage privacy and individual programmes and entertainment. Two lifts, assisted bathrooms, disabled toilets and showers too are here to ensure life is made more easy and dignified.

- All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom facilities.
- All bedrooms have private telephone line.
- Designated smoking areas.
- Access to Chapel in house. Mass daily at 10am. Monthly service for non-catholics
Care is provided 24 hours of the day by highly qualified, caring and dedicated staff. We have an on-site laundry for your personal laundry and there is no extra charge for this. Hairdressing and chiropody services are regularly provided and all the food here at Nazareth House Care Home is home-made, wholesome, nutritious, nourishing and prepared by qualified chefs.
